The back of the chair is rectangular with a curved profile. The rectangular tablet at the top of the back has rounded edges. The tablet and a horizontal slat are decorated with veneer panels in raised relief. The rear stiles are tenoned into the tablet, curve dramatically above the seat and are continuous with the back legs. The chair has a trapezoidal slip seat with replaced upholstery. Remnants of glue are present at the corners of the seat frame, indicating that the seat once had four corner blocks. Screw holes in the seat rails indicate the seat was once screwed to the seat rails. There is a split at the corner of the rear and left seat rails and a patch at the corner of the rear and right seat rails. The corner of the front and right seat rails has also been repaired.
