The upper case has a broken scroll pediment outlined along the top edges with wide, serpentine molding. An urn finial sits on a shaped plinth that rises from the center front of the pediment. The upper case originally had two paneled, arched doors, now missing; shadows from the hinges are visible. Beneath the pediment, in the areas that would have been covered by the arches of the doors, are carved fans. The case has five graduated drawers. The drawers each have a shaped escutcheon and two bail pulls with back plates of the same design as the escutcheons. The top corners and top center edge of the uppermost drawer front extend forward to act as door stops. Immediately above the top corner extensions are applied ornaments that would have appeared as the capitals of fluted pilasters along the edges of the doors. Similar ornaments are applied just beneath the lower corners of the bottom-most drawer.    The lower case has a full-width shelf that slides out immediately below the case top. The shelf is fitted with two small knobs. The case is blockfront with curved upper corners and four graduated drawers. The drawers each have a shaped escutcheon and two bail pulls with back plates of the same design as the escutcheons; the lower case hardware has a different design than the upper case hardware. Molding along the side and lower front edges of the case follows the profile of the blocking.
