A fall lid with blocking on the exterior surface opens into a flat surface on which to write. The desk interior has a central prospect unit with a prospect door with inset, blocked shell carving flanked by two false document drawers with applied flame and urn carvings. The left and right sides of the desk interior are each fitted with a stack of three narrow drawers carved with the same shell and blocking as the prospect door. Between these drawers and the prospect unit are two pigeonholes over wide, blocked drawers. The pigeonholes are separated with scrolled dividers and have valance drawers with concave lunettes along the lower edges. Each interior drawer is fitted with a single brass knob.  Below the desk surface, the blockfront case has four graduated drawers. The uppermost drawer is flanked by lopers, each of which has a single knob. The lid and drawers each have a shaped escutcheon; the drawers each have two bail pulls of a similar design as the escutcheons. The drawer openings have bead molding along the edges. The molding along the side and front lower edges of the case follows the profile of the case front. The remnants of a center drop are visible below the front skirt.
