(81.3 cm)"},{"label":"Description","value":"A Chippendale-style slant-front desk constructed of mahogany with brass hardware. The interior has a central prospect door with a narrow vertical keyhole surround and a concave blocked front topped by fan carving; the surface behind the door is also fan-carved. The door is flanked by vertical document drawers with turned half columns with flame finials. The drawers are flanked by four pigeonholes with serpentine dividers over four stacked drawers with convex blocked fronts. These are flanked by six stacked drawers with concave blocked fronts with fan carving at the top. All the interior drawers have their original round metal knobs. The case is blocked in three distinct sections; the convex blocking is arched at center. Cock-bead molding surrounds the drawer openings; complex molding runs along the bottom of the case. The four graduated drawers have their original urn-shaped escutcheons and bail pulls. The shortened cabriole legs have scrolled knee brackets and claw-and-ball feet.
