Surmounting the upper case is a gallery of three urn finials of ivory on plinths joined by concave stretchers above glazed doors with arcaded glass panes, opening to a bookcase interior with two thumb molded moveable shelves. Below the doors are three short drawers with molded edges and engraved ivory pulls. The lower section has a cylinder lid with two engraved ivory pulls opening to a fitted interior with adjustable writing surface and five pigeonholes flanked by three stacked short drawers and two long drawers, all with ivory pulls and crossbanding. The skirt is ogee-shaped.
