The top is a quarter circle shape with one large circle cut out at the center and a smaller one to either side of it. There is an integral quarter-round molding on the front. Glue blocks support the top. There is a gallery on the top, made from two pieces of wood, which are upward curving ogee curves that meet at the back corner in a half circle. There is a small shelf at the back corner near the top. The frame is a flat piece of wood curved so that it is a quarter circle and is mortise and tenoned into the legs and attached to the top shelf with glue blocks. The front is veneered with stringing around with notched corners. The lower shelf has a drawer at the center, with metal brackets underneath attaching the legs to the shelf frame. The rest of the frame is plain, as are the flat pieces on either side of the quarter circle front. The bottom of the washstand is made from two boards shaped like a crossbow with an integral half-round molding on all the edges and attached to the legs with nails. There are two front legs and one back leg. The two front legs are Marlborough legs with the bottom curved forward, and the back leg entirely straight. The shelf frames are mortise and tenoned into the legs and there are glue blocks at each corner where they meet.  There is one drawer in the center of the middle shelf, which has a hole cut into it for the drawer. The drawer has a solid front, with full height sides and a planed back. The drawer bottoms are made of one board with front to back grain, let into a groove at the front, and nailed in place at the front and back. The corner of the drawer are dovetailed, with the back corners chamfered. The drawer rests on its original runners, which are nailed in place.
