(87.6 cm)"},{"label":"Description","value":"Federal-style mahogany card table with figured maple veneer and white pine used as a secondary wood for the frame. When fully open, the table is square with swelled sides and notched corners. Knife hinges on the sides of the table join the solid mahogany fixed and swing leaves. The top of the table has a repair on the right where the hinge is located. There is a mortise and tenon joint at the center back that joins the edges of the fixed and swing leaves of the top when the table is opened. The fixed leaf of the table top is attached to the frame with screws in screw pockets. The edges of the top are inlaid with light wood arrows against a dark wood background, edged with alternating dark and light dots.    The table frame has S curve sides and a bowed front, mimicking the shape of the top. The frame?ÇÖs shape is created with laminated white pine. The front of the frame has three rectangular sections of figured maple veneer outlined with dark and light string inlay and strips of mahogany veneer that meet at mitered corners. These rectangular fields are separated by vertical inlay of dashed lines. The bottom edge of the frame is inlaid with a wider banding of two light wood squares centered on a light wood bar set into a dark wood field with light wood stringing on either side. The sides of the table frame have similar treatment, each with a single rectangular field.    The legs of the table create a corner at the front, which has a leaf shaped figured maple veneer outlined with dark and light stringing. The banding along the bottom edge of the frame continues below the leaf. The therm legs are attached to the frame with a mortise and tenon joint at the front and the right back, while the swing leg is tenoned into a swing rail attached to the stationary rail with a knuckle joint. The legs have two lines of string inlay on the exterior-facing surfaces and with a horizontal inlay marking the therm foot. The horizontal inlay goes all the way around on the back legs, but is only on three sides on the front legs. The inlay consists of multiple alternating dark and light lines with alternating hexagons and two trapezoids on top of each other in opposite directions in the center.    There is evidence of a possible break on the back gate leg where the row of string inlay stops approximately six inches below the top with a visible break and possibly replaced
