(41.3 cm)"},{"label":"Description","value":"The top of the basin stand has a bowfront basin support box surmounted by a gallery with scroll-sawn sides and back cut into sinuous curves that terminate in flat circular pendants. The rear board of the gallery is attached to the gallery sides with machine-cut dovetails visible at the case side.    The top of the basin support box is a single board with a large basin support hole and two smaller cup holes. The top board rests on the top of the case side and on top of the case back, overhanging the sides by one quarter inch. The top board is supported by glue blocks on the inside of the box. The bottom board of the basin support box is a single board attached to the case sides with glue blocks. The apron is rounded at the front and inset slightly to create a simulated molding from the veneered front edges of the top and bottom boards. The apron is veneered with figured mahogany. Two narrow drawers are set into the apron, one on either side of the basin hole.    The case sides are two boards joined and faced with veneer. The joint between the two boards is telegraphing through the veneer on both sides. The front edges of the case sides are cut into serpentine brackets with flat circular pendants. The edges of the sides are veneered.    The case back is a single board, veneered on the outside. The back is inset under the top board of the basin support box and overhangs the sides.    The lower drawer box has sides and back that are extensions of the back and side boards of the case above. The front of the drawer box is joined within the case sides and veneered with mahogany. The joint between the front of the drawer box and the case side is telegraphing through the veneer to the left of the drawer. The drawer box is bordered at the top and sides by an applied molding miter cut at the front corners.    The drawers are faced with figured mahogany veneer. Drawer sides are full height attached to the drawer back and the front with hand cut dovetails. The drawer bottoms are each a single board with grain running side-to-side and chamfering on the underside at the front and sides. The bottom is let into a groove in the drawer front and a groove into the sides and nailed to the underside of the back. The drawers rest on original runners nailed to the case side. The brass knobs on the drawers appear to be original.
