The exterior surface of the lid has a bat-wing escutcheon with keyhole. The case has four graduated drawers. The uppermost drawer is slightly narrower and flanked by lopers, each of which has a single brass knob. Bead molding outlines the edges of the drawer fronts. Each drawer has two bail pulls and a central escutcheon with keyhole; the back plates of the pulls and the escutcheons have the same bat-wing design. There is decorative molding around the base of the case at the front and sides.
