The table top has one fixed board and one hinged leaf, reinforced when open with stub tenon at seam. One of the four original pins survives. Leaf mirrors fixed board and is attached with original, brass knife hinges at sides. When open, the table top overhangs apron on all sides. Top has straight sides and canted ovolo corners. Fixed board is likely mortise and tenoned into frame, although joinery is not visible beneath layers of wood. Frame is rectangular and built out on front and sides to create serpentine profile. Apron has applied half-round molding along bottom edge of sides and front. Inner-most board of case or frame back runs full width of back and is dovetailed to the left rear side. On the right side, there is an additional board attached to and running the length of the fixed hinge rail. The left rear leg (when closed) is attached to a swing rail, which extends from fixed hinge rail with a knuckle joint and pintle (missing) to open table. The left rear leg is mortise and tenoned into the swing rail and reinforced with glue blocks. A period Boston shipping label for Marshall and Moulton?ÇÖs is attached to swing rail.    The left rear leg pivots on swing rail. The remaining three legs are stationary. Front and back legs have identical carving below skirt from top to bottom with cup and ring, tapered rope and ring and cup turnings. Leg attachment to case frame is not visible or easily discernable. Above skirt, front legs have three-quarter column at corners with stylized, low relief carving of four-petaled flower and leaves. Carving is at three-quarter angle from table front and is framed by three-quarter round molding at top and bottom. Background of relief has star- or snowflake-like punch marks. Back legs (including swing leg) have a unornamented rectangular block with half-round molding at block bottom, which creates a fluid band of molding around entire frame bottom when table is closed. Feet are turned, tapered and continuous with table legs.    Table has noticeable liquid and light damage visible when top is closed. Several glue blocks are missing. There are two cracks in top or rear table top board and a small piece of veneer missing on right front side.
