The dial door opens to reveal a clock face which denotes time via Roman numerals with a minute and a hour hand and a winding hole. The face is inscribed: [Sawin and Dyer / BOSTON].  The throat is painted with a foliate design and framed with block-and-spiral molding. Brass side arms flanked the throat.  The pendulum box is framed in matching molding. The tablet is painted with a lady in a chariot driven by reindeer. Decorative balls line the bottom edge.
