The upper case has a projecting cornice above a wide coved molding. Below are two side-by-side drawers over three graduated, full-width drawers. The drawers are flush with the case. Double-bead molding outlines the drawer openings.  The lower case has projecting waist molding applied to front and sides. Its two-tiered, five-drawer arrangement has two short, side-by-side drawers above, and two tall drawers flanking a central short drawer below. The front skirt has a large central arch flanked by stepped flat arches. Beading outlines the lower edge of the front skirt. Four cabriole legs support the case. The legs terminate in pad feet.  The entire surface of the piece is japanned and features chinoiserie scenes, figures, animals, and birds. Each wide drawer has a central escutcheon and two bail pulls on shaped back plates.
