The vasiform splat back is curved for comfort and the yoke-shaped crest rail has curved shoulders. The back edges of the splat are beveled. The splat is tenoned into the crest rail and rear seat rail. The stiles are continuous with the rear legs and have chamfered back edges. The compass slip seat has been reupholstered in a checked blue and white textile and it rests on grooves carved on the inside of the seat rails. The upholstery partially obscures the construction of the slip seat, but nail holes on the underside of the frame from prior upholstery indicate that it is original. The rear seat rail has a molded top rail nailed to the unadorned lower rail. The side rails and rear rail are mortise and tenoned into the rear legs and the front rail is mortise and tenoned into the front legs. The front rail has a notch-carved apron across the bottom edge. The cabriole front legs terminate in pad feet. There are knee blocks on the left and right side of each leg. The rear stump legs are chamfered along their front edges between the seat rail and the stretchers. There is a rear stretcher in addition to the H-form stretchers across the center and sides. The center and rear stretchers are turned with a swelled center and conical ends. The side stretchers are turned with block forms at the back and center and tapered cylinders in between.
