A shallow triangular pediment overhangs the upper case. Carved pilasters flank the two doors on the front of the upper case. Each door has a veneered frame and six rectangular panes of glass separated by thin muntins. The right door is fitted with a small keyhole surround. The doors open to reveal three full-width shelves. The bottom of the lower case has decorative molding around the edges. The upper case is sits slightly recessed from the front of the lower case.  The lower case has five drawers over a cabinet. Stacks of two narrow drawers flank a central secretary drawer in which the drawer front pivots open to form a flat surface on which to write. The small drawers each have a small keyhole surround. The secretary drawer has two wooden knobs and a keyhole surround. Opening the drawer front reveals a central compartment with an ogee valance at the top flanked by two compartments each with three pigeonholes above a single drawer with a small brass knob. Green baize is applied on the writing surface formed by the interior surfaces of the drawer bottom and drawer front. Pilasters with carved capitals flank the lower cabinet, which is slightly recessed. The cabinet has two solid, framed doors with keyhole surrounds. The base of the lower case is stepped with projected front corners that follow the profile of the cabinet.
