(53.3 cm)"},{"label":"Description","value":"A Chippendale-style slant-front desk constructed of mahogany. The lid has quarter-round molding around the edges and a keyhole surround. The interior has a central prospect door with a narrow vertical keyhole surround and inset blocking surmounted by fan carving. The door is flanked by vertical document drawers with fluted block half columns. The drawers are flanked by four pigeonholes with carved arch valances and serpentine dividers over two drawers with blocked fronts. These are flanked by six stacked drawers with concave blocked fronts topped by fan carving. The case is blocked in three distinct sections with rounded top corners. The four graduated drawers have escutcheons and bail pulls; cock-bead molding surrounds the drawer openings. The top drawer is flush with the lopers. Cove-and-quarter-round molding forms a narrow skirt with a scrolled pendant. The shortened cabriole legs have acanthus-carved knees and hairy paw feet on flattened balls. The escutcheons and pulls have been replaced.
