The central, brass finial is mushroom-shaped with plumes. The body of the clock is one, rectangular component, with a hinged door that opens to reveal the inner workings, including a pendulum and a weight baffle that is inscribed and reads: [Made by Elnathan Taber]. A circular window at the top of the door reveals the clock face with a winding hole. A second circular window at the bottom of the door reveals the pendulum. The clock face has Roman numerals, at the center is a metal dial with Arabic numerals.  The clock is fitted with an escapement-recoil and alarm attachment.
