The crest rail has a recessed, veneered tablet and is scrolled at the top. The tapered rear stiles are continuous with the back legs. At the seat frame are volute brackets. Between the stiles is a lyre-shaped splat enhanced with carved volutes and plumes connected to a lower rail that is ogee-curved, terminating in volutes. Around the front and side rails is a carved serpentine border. The front legs are spool-vase-and-chalice carved, embellished with leaf carvings on turned cylindrical feet.
