Two rear stiles are joined to crest rail with wooden pins and one triangular dovetail. Arms are continuous with and tenoned into the crest rail. They project beyond the front corners of the chair sides and are supported with reeded, vase-shaped arm supports that are continuous with the front legs. Wood rails cover the front vertical edges of the chair sides. A horizontal rail above the seat rail is composed of three smaller components: two are tenoned into the front vertical edges of the sides and the rear stiles and one runs between the two rear stiles.  The seat follows the profile of the chair back and sides; the front edge is bowed. The front rail of the seat is tenoned into the front legs and reinforced with pegs. The rear seat rail is composed of three pieces of wood joined to the rear legs. Corner blocks, possibly made of oak, have been screwed into the legs and underside of the seat frame. Tapered baluster front legs have turned rings at top and bottom. The front legs terminate in turned pads. The rear legs are squared and sweep back; the are tenoned into the seat rail. In 1964, Richard Randall identified several chairs as part of this commission based on provenance information. This chair shares some design and construction attributes with the provenanced chairs. However, an analysis made by Susan Buck in 1991 shows that this chair is an outlier among a group of 12 of the surviving chairs. It has more elaborate decoration than the other chairs and is built on a larger scale. It has been suggested that it may have been made separately as a chair for the Senate president and may not have been part of the 30-chair commission."},{"label":"Maker","value":["Bright, George,
