Overall paint treatment with multiple coatings of red, black, and green paint. The birdcage back has seven bamboo-turned spindles that are tenoned through a horizontal spindle below the crest rail. Three of the vertical spindles continue up through the crest rail. The arms and arm supports are splayed outward, canted forward to a forty-five degree angle, and bamboo-turned. Each arm has an additional spindle and an arm support that is tenoned through the seat. The seat is cupped with a shallow cove that outlines the spindles. Scrub plane marks are evident on the underside of the seat. The legs and stretchers are bamboo-turned. The chair has one front stretcher, one back stretcher, and side stretchers; the front and back stretchers are higher than the side stretchers.
