Pierced fretwork crowns the hood, which has three brass ball-and-spike finials mounted to square plinths. Below the pediment is a molded and arched door and reeded, freestanding columns with brass capitals flanking the painted dial. The lunette features a moon phase as well as a naval ship flying the American flag, with decorative gilt spandrels outside the time circle. Roman and Arabic numerals denote time via the clock face dial. In addition to the pierced scrolled hour and minute hands, there is a small time-circle with Arabic numerals to track seconds. An arched display window, which is flanked by winding holes, tracks calendar days. Below the calendar aperture, [WARRANTED BY / E. Taber] is inscribed on the dial face. Cavetto molding separates the trunk from the hood. The rectangular trunk door with a cross banded, veneered border is flanked by brass mounted reeded quarter columns. On the inside of the door it?ÇÖs noted that the clock sold for $65. The base section is surmounted by cove molding and framed in cross banded veneer. Along the bottom, just above the French feet is a line of lightwood veneer and a double ogee skirt. According to Skinner, Inc., the case has been refinished, 1984."},{"label":"Date Digitized","value":"7/20/2018"},{"label":"Marks, Signatures, and Inscriptions","value":"Inscribed on dial: [WARRANTED BY / E.
