The veneered piano top is not fastened to the piano frame. The piano top is composed of three boards, joined with hinges. The top of the piano covers the piano keys and internal playing mechanisms. There are half-round moldings along the edges of the piano top. The front, top corners of the piano, just under the top, are decorated with scrolled fretwork. The strings on the interior of the piano run horizontally and are flanked by decorative metal work with scroll and pierced foliate designs. The front of the piano has a laminated music stand with scroll and harp-shaped fretwork. The corners of the piano are rounded. The case sides are veneered. Carved, drop-shaped moldings are applied along the sides and front of the piano. Half-round moldings are applied horizontally at the middle and lower sections of the case front, sides, and back. The piano bottom is composed of approximately eight boards, with six vertical running braces. The braces are screwed to the piano bottom. The edges of the case bottom are chamfered on all sides. The piano case has four twelve-sided, scalloped, and tapered legs with scalloped caps and turned bases. The scalloped sections of the legs are veneered. The front left leg has some wood loss. All legs have some veneer loss. The legs terminate in large, cylindrical feet. There is a harp-shaped pedal leg with two brass pedals at the base of the leg.
