When fully open, the tabletop is rectangular with canted corners. The top is composed of two rectangular leaves with canted front corners, each a single board, that swivel and open on a hollow frame. Both leaves terminate in a half round molding at the front and sides. The top is attached to the frame on the left side with a long bolt that projects through the bottom of the frame, allowing it to pivot. The frame, like the leaves, is rectangular with canted front corners and a straight back. The sides of the frame are dovetailed to the rear rail, and the front and sides are veneered, obscuring their joints. The bottom board of the frame is chamfered and let into a groove at the front and nailed at the back. The legs are attached to two short, beveled runners screwed to the underside of the frame. The legs are turned with an outward tapering reeded cylinder and a vase shape carved with acanthus leaves, both flanked with decorative rings. The space between the acanthus leaves is filled with a pressed floral patterning. The legs are attached to rectangular plinths on either side with floral brass mounts affixed to the front faces. One turned stretcher extends between the two plinths, decorated with three rings on either side of a swelled central element carved with acanthus leaves flanking a central beaded ring and spool-form design. Below the plinths, four sabre legs terminate in brass paw castors. An applied scroll element with five rounded projections is glued to the tops of the sabre legs, the design continuing down their front faces with a triple bead molding.
