Five ring-turned spindles are tenoned into the underside of the bentwood rail and the seat. The saddle seat is composed of a single hardwood board onto which softwood boards have glued. Support joints are visible along the front and rear edges of the seat, giving the appearance of a thin rectangular discolored strip of wood. The wood on the seat has been heavily varnished, and is currently wearing away on the underside. The turned front legs have eight ring turnings at the top and three near the foot, separated by plain turning. The rear legs are turned. A widely-spaced pair of stretchers with central ring turnings support the front legs.
