The back of the chair is rectangular with a curved profile. The rectangular tablet at the top of the back has squared edges. The tablet and a horizontal slat are decorated with veneer panels in raised relief. The rear stiles are tenoned into the tablet, curve dramatically above the seat and are continuous with the back legs. The chair has a trapezoidal slip seat with replaced upholstery. Remnants of glue are present at the corners of the seat frame, indicating that the seat once had four corner blocks. The joint of the rear and left seat rails is damaged. The seat is supported by four sabre legs, which are attached to the seat rail with mortise and tenon joints.
