The upper case has a broken scroll pediment outlined along the top edges with wide, serpentine molding and terminating in carved rosettes. Urn and corkscrew finials are mounted on top of rectangular plinths at the front corners and on a shaped plinth that rises from the center front of the pediment. The upper case has a top center drawer with blocked fan carving, flanking drawers, and four graduated drawers below. Fluted pilasters cover the front vertical edges of the case.  The lower case has four graduated drawers, the uppermost of which is a secretary drawer in which the drawer front pivots open to form a flat surface on which to write. The secretary drawer has nine pigeonholes over a row of five drawers; the center drawer is wider than the others. The case rests on bracket feet.  The full-width drawers in the upper and lower cases each have pairs of bail pulls with solid back plates and similarly shaped escutcheons. The fan-carved drawer in the upper case has a simple ring pull. The flanking drawers in the upper case each have a single bail pull of the same design as the wide drawers.
