Surmounting the upper case is a broken-arch pediment with a molded cornice and three flame-and-urn finials mounted to plinths at the corners and center. The doors are arched, fitted with locks and butt hinges, and open to reveal rows of pigeonholes with valances and tall slots, and below is a row of drawers with small knobs. Under the upper case is a singular, knobbed pull-out shelf. The lower case consists of an unfolding writing surface. Inside the desk are stacked drawers, the top one shell-carved, pigeonholes with ogee valances above drawers flanking a central prospect door with pilasters and a recessed shell carving and a keyhole. When the lid is unfolded, it rests on knobbed lopers. The lower case has four graduated drawers; the top drawer is set between the lopers. The drawers have batwing escutcheons with bail pulls and keyholes. The base is molded.
