The rectangular plank seat is padded and upholstered with black painted canvas. A rougher canvas is visible underneath the finish canvas. The upholstery is finished with nails. The underside of the seat displays a red wash and planing and chamfering marks. Baluster-turned legs are mortise and tenoned to the seat. Legs are reinforced with baluster-turned stretchers arranged in an H-shape pattern.    There are tears in the upholstery on the top and sides of the seat. Tear-out and wood loss on each side of the medial stretcher at the point that it connects to the side stretcher.
