Previously owned by C.W. Lyon, Inc., as of 1939."},{"label":"Description","value":"Federal-style, breakfront desk-and-bookcase with desk.  Surmounting the upper case are four side urn-and-spike finials with a central carved eagle finial all on rectangular plinths. The upper case is in three sections with four glazed doors with panes of double Gothic arches in an arcade, separated by pilasters. The outer doors have one octagonal escutcheons with keyholes and the two doors at center have one. Inside the case, in each section are four shelves. At the base of each pilaster are projected plinths, veneered with diagonally-grained wood, flanking veneered tablets with banded borders. The lower case consists of two sets of a drawer above a door flanking a fold-out desk with two knobbed drawers above six pigeonholes with flat-arch valances. The drawers have drop ring pulls with lion's head plates and the drawer fronts are veneered with a central tablets within a border of stringing and banding. The doors are decorated much the same except with a octagonal escutcheon and keyhole. On the sides of the drawers and doors and along the bottom of the case is additional stringing and veneer. The desk is above another drawer; this one has two drop ring pulls with lion's head plates. The drawer front is outlined with stringing to match the other drawers and doors. The center section has an arched front with veneering and stringing.
