Bow has bentwood curved outline and is not tenoned through seat. There are nine spindles total, which are tenoned through the top, but not through the seat. There is a small bead along profile of top and bottom almost obscured entirely by layers of paint.  Arms are continuous with bentwood back. The arm post angulates in diameter and has two incised bands or rings. It is tenoned through the seat, while two spindle arm supports are not.  Seat is balloon-shaped with saddle contour and small pommel. On seat incised line begins at sides near front arm post, curves inward and follows interior arc of spindles.  All four legs are tenoned through seat. Similar to arm posts, legs vary in diameter and are decorated with several simple incised bands. Chair has one side stretcher on each side and a middle stretcher. Side stretchers bulge at center where center stretcher joints. Middle stretcher also has bulge at center, flanked by raised ring turnings on either side.  Chair is painted with multiple layers of thick black paint, with traces of green paint. Paint surface has lots of craquelure, but surface seems relatively stable overall.
