Square top designed so that one leaf folds over the other; leaves are attached with knife hinges. The top can then rotate on a circular pivot and then open. The top has a book-matched mahogany veneer surface. The frame is rectangular with a large cove molding on three sides. The frame is constructed with dovetails and attached to the top with the pivot that is nailed into the cross brace. The case back that does not have the cove molding is made of one horizontal board attached with a single dovetail on each side. The case bottom is nailed into a dado on the front and sides. The bottom is made of two boards and is structurally integral to the piece. The legs are squared and screwed to the case. The legs terminate in a trestle arrangement: The pair of legs on each narrow end of the table is attached to a single scrolled double-bracket foot. Each of the brackets is fitted with a castor.
