(51 cm)"},{"label":"Description","value":"Chippendale-style, oxbow-front chest of drawers.  The top of the chest of drawers overhangs the case slightly and is molded around the edges. The front of the top has an oxbow profile; the sides are straight. The oxbow profile continues through the case. The case holds four graduated drawers. The drawer dividers and case sides have beading the outlines the drawer openings. Each drawer front has two bail pulls on circular mounts and a central, oval keyhole surround. The lower edge of the case is outlined in stepped molding. Forster of Charlestown, but former DAPC cataloger, JJE, states that Ullman was probably thinking of Jacob Forster since a search of records, performed by H.M. Schlatter, did not disclose an A.J. Foster. Features on this case are similar to other objects labeled by Jacob Forster. The nearest maker (other than Jacob) Schlatter could ascribed to the initials would be Abraham Foster (sometimes written Forster).
