Elliott, 1954."},{"label":"Description","value":"A Chippendale-style slant-front desk. The lid has narrow molding around the edges. The interior is stepped in two tiers. The bottom tier is a row of three drawers with round knobs, with cock-bead molding on the dividers. The upper tier has a central prospect door with a shaped keyhole surround and a carved inset panel topped by a carved fan. The door is flanked by vertical document drawers with turned half-columns with flame finials. These are flanked by four pigeonholes with scrolled valances and serpentine dividers over two drawers with shaped fronts. This in turn is flanked by two drawers, the lower drawer with an inset blocked front and the upper drawer with a corresponding carved fan. The front of the case is blocked in three distinct sections which terminate with sharp corners near the top of the case. The four graduated drawers have urn-shaped escutcheons and bail pulls. Cock-bead molding borders the drawer openings, and cove-and-quarter-round molding runs along the bottom of the case.
