Rectangular top composed of one fixed board. The top of the desk slopes down towards the front of the desk. Near the rear edge of the desk top is a cove-shaped groove cut horizontally to act as a pencil tray and a cast iron inkwell at the center. The inkwell has a six-pointed star and pivoting top cover and is secured to the desk with flat head screws. The top of the desk is attached with wooden pins to a rectangular frame. The back corners of the frame are mitered and the sides of the desk are joined to the bottom with a rabbet cut into the lower edges. The left and right sides of the desk are cyma cut and composed of one board each. The front of the desk is open, exposing two equally-sized partitions separated by a cyma-cut vertical divider. The divider is screwed into place from the bottom and doweled at the top. The dowels securing the top of the divider are visible at the top of the desk. The back of the desk is composed of one board. It is secured at the top using screws or dowels, and rabbeted at the sides. The desk bottom is also composed of one board, which is let into rabbets at the case sides and back. The desk bottom is reinforced with flat head screws. The desk rests upon two cast iron trestle legs. The legs have a central ring with cast maker's marks and are attached to the desk with screws. The base of the legs is designed to accept bolts in order to attach the desk to the floor. The overall surface of the desk is heavily worn."},{"label":"Date Digitized","value":"5/13/2015"},{"label":"Marks, Signatures, and Inscriptions","value":"Cast into the?áexterior and interior sides of the legs: [W.O.
