The head has a hinged glass door and a bezel fitted with a lock. The dial has Roman numerals and pointed and scrolled hands. The throat has a trapezoidal reverse-painted glass panel set in a wooden frame painted with a foliate design. The frame elements are connected to small wooden blocks at the corners of the throat. The fronts of the blocks are painted with eight-pointed stars. The panel is painted in a classical motif of scrolls, plumes, and acanthus leaves against a light colored background. Brass sidearms flank the throat. The pendulum box has a rectangular reverse-painted glass panel set in a wooden frame painted with a foliate design. The frame elements are connected to small wooden blocks at the corners of the pendulum box. The fronts of the blocks are painted with eight-pointed stars. The panel is painted with a light outer border, a decorative inner border, and a scene of a woman holding a basket atop her head, standing on a shore and engaging with a young man holding a fishing pole. A second young boy has his arm extended as if he's handling the string on the fishing pole. In the background is a building and a ship. Below the pendulum box is a bracket painted with foliate design that terminates in a large, gilded acorn drop finial."},{"label":"Date Digitized","value":"12/11/2018"},{"label":"Marks, Signatures, and Inscriptions","value":"Inscription on dial: [John J.
