(113.7 cm)"},{"label":"Description","value":"Chippendale drop-leaf table constructed of mahogany, white pine, and brass hinges. Rectangular top with fixed central board and two leaves. The leaves are attached to the fixed board with butt hinges. The fixed top is secured to the frame with glue blocks. The rectangular frame is constructed with both pinned mortise and tenon joints and dovetail joints. The dovetails joints occur at the frame?ÇÖs fixed boards on the sides of the swing legs. The bottoms of the side rails on the short sides of the frame are shaped and carved out with a double cyma curves that meet at a central point. The table has four Marlborough legs with incised lines and serpentine molding on the exterior sides. The inside edge of each leg is chamfered. Two of the legs are swing legs, which rotate outward on knuckle hinges. Minor sunbleaching and varnish loss.
