Hood: The hood of the clock has a continuous arched pediment surmounted by fretwork and three ball and spire finials. The central finial is broken and missing its spire. Stop-fluted columns flank the left and right sides of the hood. The tops and bases of the columns are decorated with brass column tops and bottoms. There is cove molding along the top edges of the hood front and sides. The sides of the hood have lights, or glass-filled openings. The hood door is arched and has a dial door lock. Cove moldings decorate the section of the clock between the hood and trunk. The arched dial plate is made of brass. The dial plate has applied spandrels, painted floral decorations ornamenting the spandrels, and a large painted bird in the center arch. There is some minor paint loss on the dial face. The dial has hour and minute hands, a seconds dial, and two winding holes. Roman numerals and Arabic numerals are found along the edges of the dial face. The clock retains two pulleys, two weights, and a winding tool. According to institutional records, Ashwin and Co. made the clock works around 1810.    Trunk: Stop-fluted quarter columns are nailed to the left and right front edges of the trunk. The tops and bases of the columns are decorated with brass column tops and bottoms. The trunk door is arched and features a dial door lock. The bead molding which surrounds the trunk door is integral to the door. Additional cove molding decorates the section of the piece between the trunk and base. Glue blocks are found within the interior of the trunk.    Base: There are moldings nailed along the lower edges of the base front and sides. There is a large hole in the base bottom. The base is veneered; there is a large crack on the lower left section. The base has four ogee bracket feet that are attached with glue blocks. Only one of the glue blocks remains.
