(59.1 cm)"},{"label":"Description","value":"Mahogany \"bergere\" armchair with green leather-upholstered back continuous with the sides. Two rear stiles are joined to crest rail with wooden pins and one triangular dovetail. Arms are continuous with and tenoned into the crest rail. They project beyond the front corners of the chair sides and are supported with vase-shaped arm supports that are continuous with the front legs. Wood rails cover the front vertical edges of the chair sides. A horizontal rail above the seat rail is composed of three smaller components: two are tenoned into the front vertical edges of the sides and the rear stiles and one runs between the two rear stiles.  The seat follows the profile of the chair back and sides; the front edge is slightly bowed. The front rail of the seat is tenoned into the front legs and reinforced with pegs. The rear seat rail is composed of three pieces of wood joined to the rear legs. Corner blocks support the seat. Tapered baluster front legs have turned rings at top and bottom. The front legs terminate in turned pads. The rear legs are squared and sweep back; the are tenoned into the seat rail.
