The slant-front lid has a large relief carving of a shell or fan that is centered along the lower exterior edge of the lid and extends to just below the escutcheon centered along the top edge of the lid. The case has four graduated drawers; lopers, each with a single brass knob, flank the uppermost drawer. The drawer fronts project in front of the drawer dividers. Each drawer has two bail pulls and a central escutcheon with keyhole. The back plates of the bail pulls and the escutcheons are bat-wing shaped. There is stepped molding along front and side edges of the case bottom.
