(57.2 cm)"},{"label":"Description","value":"Marble-topped pier table with ornate ormolu mounts. The marble top has a curved front and straight back and rests on the upper rails of the case. The front legs are cylinders with a slight taper at the top; the rear legs are square pilasters. Floral ormolu mounts are attached to the front legs above the apron. The table rests on disc shaped feet. The case back is made up of three boards using frame and panel construction, set into rabbets. The bottom is surrounded by a flat base molding.    The single drawer at the center has an applied ormolu mount with a classical woman, perhaps Diana, in a chariot being pulled by butterflies. The drawer sides are full height and attached to the drawer front and back with hand-cut dovetails. The drawer bottom is let into grooves at the front and sides and nailed to the back.
