The tabletop is square with rounded corners and composed of five boards. The edges on all sides terminate in an integral half-round molding. The top surface is covered with eight triangular sections of veneer arranged in book matched pairs, all meeting at a center point. The top is attached with glue blocks and screws, both in pockets and free. There is a wide gap between the outer edges tabletop and the top edges of the frame. The frame sides are laminated and veneered, each being composed of four total pieces that form an undulating frame edge with a quarter-round molding, a concave over convex ogee curved frieze, and a plain frieze surrounded by nailed bead molding on all sides. The bent corners of the frame are separate pieces and secured with mortise and tenoned wedges made from three blocks of wood. Wooden brackets attached with nails and screws reinforce the corner construction. Two runners extend across the frame and are mortise and tenoned to the frame sides. Each runner has a wedge cut into it to accommodate the pedestal block. The block is replaced with a board above the pedestal that is screwed into the runners. The pedestal is attached to the board with a bolt running all the way through to the bottom. A peg and block of wood are also attached to the pedestal board with no known purpose. The pedestal is octagonal, fanning outward to a dramatic curve at the bottom. The octagonal fanned shape is repeated with a half-round molding below the pedestal. Four scroll-shaped feet with castors protrude from the central octagon. The tops of the feet taper inward with a curved groove sculpted at the top. The parallel feet are cut from the same piece of wood, assembled into an X and cut with grooves to accommodate one another.
