Comb-back with three sections of spindles and a tablet crest rail. The crest rail is painted with a black outline, foliage in each corner, a central lined frame, and a painting of an instrument and foliage in the center. In the top section, there are six spindles that are tenoned into the tablet crest rail and lower spindle divider. The second section is very short and contains nine spindles grouped into three groups of three. The bottom section is by far the tallest with seven long spindles. The top two sections?ÇÖ spindles are tenoned through the tops of their dividers. A single board, half-circle seat has rounded front corners. A shallow groove outlines the perimeter of the back spindles, arms, and arm supports and around the front of the seat. There is an additional lower groove below it with painted, floral decoration in between the grooves. Serpentine curved mahogany arms with scrolled hand holds. Turned, bulbous, arms supports have painted decoration that emulates bamboo turning with black rings around the middle. Cylindrical, turned legs have shallow grooves that divide them into three sections. The grooves are lined with black paint. Stretchers on each side with the front and rear stretchers at a higher height than the side stretchers. Stretchers, while not grooved, are lined with black paint in a similar style as the legs. Rockers, or bends, are arched with decorative cut outs in the front and back. Overall paint treatment with the exception of the arms.
