The mirror frame is made of three pieces of molding joined with an exposed mortise and tenon visible at the top. Support uprights are attached to the top of the case with through dowels reinforced at the back by wedge-shaped glue blocks reinforced with a single screw. Brass thumb screws tighten to hold the mirror in position. The side supports taper from bottom to top in two curved sections, ending in a point. The backing board of the looking glass is washed but unvarnished pine with visible scrub-plane marks. The backing board is held in place with nails.    The top of the drawer box is three boards, butt joined and veneered, attached to the sides of the drawer box with dovetails. The sides of the drawer box are veneered, and a thick band of veneer is applied to the front edges of the drawer box top, bottom and sides and to the front of the drawer partition. The bottom of the drawer box is two boards, butt joined and attached to the case sides with hand-cut visible dovetails. Rectangular riser blocks are glued to the bottom at the corners. The back of the drawer box is inset between the top and bottom boards and the side boards, and held in place with nails. A vertical partition is fitted into rabbets at the top and bottom; nailed to the back and the bottom.    The drawer fronts are veneered with book matched figured mahogany. The drawer sides are full height and joined to the back and front with hand-cut dovetails. The drawer bottom is let into a groove in the front and sides and nailed to the underside of the back. The drawer bottoms are single boards with the grain running side to side, with chamfering on the underside at the front and sides, and evidence of pit sawing. Drawer backs show hand planing marks. The drawers rest on the bottom of the drawer box. A pair of square stop blocks is glued to the bottom board of the drawer box within each of the drawer holes. The drawer is made of mahogany.    The mirror has a single crack, and shows oxidation to the silvered backing.
