The washstand?ÇÖs top is square and made out of one board, which lifts up to reveal the shelf that supports the washbowl. The frame is square, with the top two sections for the lid and washbowl dovetailed together. The case top is glued in place. The washbowl shelf is slid into grooves and kept in place by the frame construction. The bottom of the washbowl section is attached with glue blocks, which are visible through the three holes in the washbowl shelf, which has one large circle in the center and smaller circles in the top corners. The hinge for the top is attached to the inside of the top frame on the left and to the inside of the washbowl frame, in addition to butt hinges at the back.  There is an integral bead molding around the top of the cabinet frame below the washbowl shelf. The case sides are each made out of one board. The case back is made from one horizontal board attached with nails. The case bottom of one board is structurally integral to the case attached, with the bottom molding of three rows of cock-bead molding around the front and sides functioning as glue blocks and a nail at the center back from the case bottom into the back, and mortise and tenoned with the case sides. The four feet are turned and glued to the molding.  There is one drawer below the washbowl frame. The drawer has a horizontal veneer with an applied bead molding. The drawer has full height sides and a planed back. The drawer bottom is made from one board with side to side grain. There is chamfering and the front and sides where it is left into grooves and nailed at the back. The corners are dovetailed together. The drawer rests on the original runners which are set into grooves in the sides and mortise and tenoned into the front rail. The top front rail is mortise and tenoned in place, as is the bottom front rail and they have a veneered facing. There are stop blocks for the drawer glued to the back of the case.  There are two doors below the drawer. The doors are made from three pieces, with a vertical board in the middle and a horizontal board above and below. The door fronts have a vertical veneer with an applied bead molding. There is a triple bead molding on the right door covering where the two doors meet. There is a doorstop at the front of the case bottom, with a hole for a hinge in front of it. There is one fixed shelf inside the case, which has two rows of cock-bead molding at the front. The shelf is positioned three-quarters of the way up from the case bottom so that it is about the same height as the drawer, with a larger section below it."},{"label":"Date
