The chest has two side-by-side drawers over three graduated, full-width drawers. Each drawer front is veneered with light wood banding applied around the perimeter. Each drawer has two drop bulls and a central escutcheon. The chest sits on four ball feet.  Significant alterations done. Brasses are probably original, except for bottom drawer pulls. All escutcheons have been moved up approximately 0.25 in. to accommodate keyholes of replacement locks. Most of the drawer-runners have been replaced at least once. The exterior has been refinished. Some of the light walnut has been replaced by a composite, probably of wood fragments and glue. Gray paint remains on the feet. Feet have been moved slightly to accommodate two new boards added beneath the bottom.
