The lid has molded edges and a keyhole surround. The interior has two stepped tiers. The top tier has a central prospect door with a shaped keyhole surround and a concave blocked front with fan carving at the top, flanked by vertical document drawers with turned half columns with urn-and-flame finials. The drawers are flanked by four pigeonholes with arched valances and scrolled dividers over two blocked drawers; these are flanked by four stacked drawers with concave blocked fronts topped by fan carving. The bottom tier has three drawers with quarter-round molded edges. All the interior drawers have round metal knobs. The bomb?? case has original bail handles on escutcheons on the sides. The four graduated drawers have old but not original bail pulls and escutcheons; cock-bead molding edges the drawer openings. Cove-and-quarter-round molding forms a narrow skirt, with a scrolled central pendant.
