The top is covered with bookmatched mahogany veneer bordered by checkered inlay banding, with a broad outer band of walnut; it has notched corners, conforms to the blocking at the front, and has cove-and-quarter-round molding around the edges. The case is blocked in three distinct sections, with the center section concave; a long drawer extends above a row of three drawers. Each drawer has crotch walnut veneer in a checkered border and has quarter-round molded edges. The top drawer has two bail pulls on escutcheons and a coordinating keyhole surround. The outer lower drawers each have one bail pull on an escutcheon. The central lower drawer has an applied carved and inlaid shell with a small round knob. All the pulls and escutcheons are original. Two original turned acorn pendants descend from the front skirt; the plinths have cock-bead molding at the bottom. The cabriole legs have rounded knees and pad feet. The sides and back are white pine panels tenoned and pinned to the walnut legs; the sides are veneered. The front is made of three pine rails and two pine partitions, all veneered. The drawers are entirely white pine; the bottom is nailed to the front and back and has glued on runners. All drawer fronts except for the lower central drawer are shaped on both sides. The drawers are supported by strips attached to the sides and to the partitions and back. The veneer on the top was likely repaired by Israel Sack, Inc.; one of the images obtained directly from Israel Sack, Inc., shows severe damage to the veneer on the top, but the image of the top published in their brochures shows no signs of damage."},{"label":"Date Digitized","value":"7/20/2018"},{"label":"Materials","value":"Walnut; Figured walnut; Mahogany; White pine; Unidentified wood; Unidentified metal"},{"label":"Style","value":["Queen Anne"]},{"label":"Basis of Date","value":"Date range of approximately 1735-1740 provided by Israel Sack, Inc., about 1979.
