The back has an arched crest rail with shallow carving. The center of the back is upholstered, with a lower rail visible below. A veneered wing with curved, upholstered upper surface extends forward from the back. There is a shell carving in the upper section of the front of the wing, within the curve of the upper surface. The rectangular corner post and front seat rail are veneered and have molding along the top and bottom edges. The rectangular seat has a loose, full-width cushion. The sofa has a foliate-shaped front leg with flat front surface that is shallowly carved with a foliate design. The leg terminates in a thick ring turning and a small castor.
