The desk has two separate sections which stack; the top section consists of the writing area and the first two drawers. The lid has a molded edge and an urn-shaped keyhole surround. The writing area rests on a horizontal slide. The interior has three stepped rows of drawers, with ten drawers in the top row, four in the second, and three in the bottom. All the interior drawers have original round metal knobs. The sides of the top section have original bail handles on urn-shaped escutcheons. The overall case is bomb?? with a serpentine front. The four graduated drawers have original urn-shaped escutcheons and bail pulls. Cock-bead molding borders the drawer openings; ogee-and-quarter-round molding runs along the bottom.
