(374.7 cm)"},{"label":"Description","value":"Federal-style billiard table constructed of mahogany, white pine, Spanish cedar, mahogany veneer, an unidentified light wood inlay, and wool baize. The rectangular top is constructed of sixty small panels of wood (either mahogany or Spanish cedar) with the wood graining running in alternate directions. The top appears to be rabbetted to the frame and has an integral ogee molding on all four sides. The rectangular frame has mortise and tenon joints with floating dovetails in areas for the interior braces. There are several cuts on some of the center brace boards for sliding dovetails for additional legs, which may or not may have been used previously. The bed bolts on the sides of the frame that reinforce the mortise and tenon joints have decorative brass or wood covers. Six, large therm legs with a double taper on the lower portion attached to the frame with mortise and tenon joints reinforced with metal bolts. All legs are outlined in a light wood stringing with an inlaid central panel. The top of the billiard table is covered in green wool baize. Pencil marks in the two squares of the underside of the table in the corner closest to the windows and fireplace: Appears to be score keeping with columns of numbers and notes of [new player], [Nov 6].    Inscription in the front of the long side of the table in the veneer: [XVIII].
