The curved rectangular tablet at the crest is square with the rear stiles, and attached with large, flat-head screws, possibly original to the object. The stiles are each composed from one piece of wood. They are joined to the seat rail, and continuous with the back legs. There is a single wide, horizontal slat between the rear stiles, positioned in the center of the chair back, between crest rail and seat rail. The crest rail, slat, and stiles are stenciled with floral and classical motifs in yellow-gold and light brown paint. A hand-painted, yellow-gold outline follows the shape of the crest rail and the chamfered edge of the rear stiles.  The trapezoidal seat is framed with mortise-and-tenon joints. The joints connecting the rear stiles to the frame have been reinforced with modern screws. There are visible, irregular saw marks on the inside of the frame. On the interior surfaces of the left and right seat rails, there is a single pin at the midpoint of each side. The seat itself is missing. There are evenly spaced, uniformly shaped holes along the perimeter of the seat rails, following the line of demarcation between painted surface and raw wood on the top surface of the frame. Like the crest rail and stiles, the top surface of the frame is hand-painted with a yellow-gold outline. The facing surface of the front seat rail is stenciled to match the crest rail, slat, and stiles.  All four legs are turned. The two front legs are ring-turned, baluster legs; the rear legs are turned and taper at the foot. The legs are joined to the seat rail with round, mortise-and-tenon joints. Between the front and rear legs, there are two stretchers on each side. Between the rear legs, there is a single stretcher. The round tenons joining the stretchers to the legs are coming slightly loose in their mortises, and show evidence of glue. Between the front legs, there is a single, ring-turned stretcher. The front legs terminate in turned, ball feet.  The chair is coated with black paint. The paint is in fair condition, but has worn off to reveal the raw wood, especially along edges and curved surfaces."},{"label":"Date Digitized","value":"1/25/2019"},{"label":"Marks, Signatures, and
